The Nowhere Inn To say Wufei is unsettled by the place he finds himself is putting things lightly. Still, the first rule of unfamiliar surroundings is to get your bearings, so he does exactly that. Which is part of how he wound up here, sitting at the counter and gazing down at his Lemongrass Twilight, half empty in his hand. He's clearly feeling its effects, as he lifts his glass to take another sip and doesn't level a glare on the first person his eyes land on.
Home Sweet Home [Closed to Duo] There's just something about the place. He can't quite put his finger on it, but the building -- the home -- feels... right. Maybe he's still tipsy from the drink he'd had, but he goes up to the door and gives a firm knock. Every instinct is telling him to just walk right in, but that can't possible be right, and he's not drunk enough to just follow through on his instincts. Only enough to indulge himself a tiny bit.
A Familiar View He's been here for a few days, walked this street a dozen times since then, but it's today that he finally sees the jade statuette in the shop window. A two-headed dragon, nestled into an old box with velvet lining to protect it. The Altron statue he'd been gifted before the war, for the express purpose of pawning it to fund his efforts.
He stops in his tracks when he sees it, with no regard to traffic on the sidewalk. As things are, people just flow around him like he's not even there, as he takes a step closer to the window, gazing at Altron. This whole place is just wrong. This shouldn't be here.
And when he gets a look at the price tag, his brow furrows. It shouldn't be that goddamn cheap, either. Almost as soon as he thinks it, he blinks and the price has increased, two additional zeroes added to the end of the number putting it in the actual ballpark it should've been. He stares for a few seconds before giving his head a hard shake. Of course it had always been that price.
